The culmination of the vision for this project was no small feat; The goal of the Astoria Food Hub from the beginning was to foster a vibrant and inclusive community where the responsible management of ecological and economic resources are equally accessible to the people of the region. Straw to Gold took charge of the branding process and the creation of educational materials, fundraising efforts, as well as the development of print and video collateral. Additionally, we provided interior design expertise and project management support to ensure a comprehensive and successful outcome.

Right on the coast of Astoria, Oregon, this expansive 27,000-square-foot building boasts a cold and dry storage facility, a generously sized commercial kitchen available for lease, and an on-site retail space. It serves as a valuable platform for budding and emerging regional food producers, offering them the opportunity to gain invaluable retail experience and establish connections with wholesale markets. We took on the task of designing a comprehensive digital and print presence for the Astoria Food Hub with enthusiasm and gusto. With a special focus on showcasing the mission and values of the organization, we developed a visually engaging website that effectively communicated the hub's offerings and benefits. The website incorporated intuitive navigation, vibrant imagery, and compelling content to captivate visitors and drive engagement. In addition, we designed print collateral and educational materials that aligned with the brand identity and conveyed key messages in a visually appealing way using custom photography and film captured on-site.
The AFH retail space acts as a local access point, enabling the wider community to conveniently purchase an array of locally crafted and locally sourced foods and goods, further enhancing regional engagement and support. When looking at interior design, we carefully considered the space's goals and objectives, lighting and fixture requirements, brand integration, and user experience. They analyzed the space's functionality, planned lighting design, selecting fixtures in line with the aesthetic. We then incorporated the brand's color palette and design elements. The result was a cohesive and visually appealing space that catered to the users' needs while maintaining brand consistency.
